Remote Learning

Montgomery providing remote education

What happens with my child’s learning if they are not at school because the school has had to close during term time?

The class teacher will use See Saw to set class learning for the children.

What is the curriculum for my child this year?

We have updated our curriculum over the past years and you can see the full curriculum for your child’s year on the school website. The curriculum for each subject is carefully mapped out from year to year and teachers have woven learning from different subjects together appropriately to create exciting learning opportunities. We hope to be able to teach this entire curriculum in school, however in the eventuality of absences, teachers will, as far as practicalities allow, ensure that over the course of any absence, a range of subjects are taught from this curriculum plan.

What if we can’t access learning on the internet?

Please let us know by phone call that you are not able to access learning online and we will arrange for the work to be available on paper. This will include information about how to get the work back to us for marking. Alternatively, we may be able to lend you a laptop subject to demand,

What happens if we don’t manage to complete the work at home or my child is reluctant to do it?

If your child is not completing work and not returning their work, the class teacher will contact you to discuss the issues. Together we hope we can find a solution. It is really important that we work together to keep children learning. Teachers are happy to help assist those parents who are less confident in delivering the content as much as they can.

How are you promoting positive mental health?

As part of our curriculum we use the ‘One Decision’ PSCHE scheme. Teachers will use this weekly to ensure that the impacts of of not being in school, absence from peers and worries are discussed. Children will also be able to raise any worries they have directly with their teacher via seesaw.

If I have any worries how can I get in touch?

Please contact the class teacher through your child’s SeeSaw page. Please remember that this will be reviewed and responded to as soon as possible during the working day.

What are the arrangements for pupils with Special Educational Needs?

The class teachers will work to ensure that the learning experiences for pupils are appropriately met. Learning activities uploaded for SEN pupils will be matched to their needs.
